About Editorial Links
Editorial Links is a professional platform for discovering editors through their published work and facilitating legitimate content-production opportunities between businesses and independent editors. Editorial Links is not a marketplace for buying or selling guaranteed backlinks, and must not be used or represented as one.
Eligibility
You must be able to form a legally binding contract to use the platform. If you are using the platform on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
Account Registration
Editor Account Approval
There is no open, public sign-up for editor accounts. Individuals apply, and Editorial Links reviews the application, including professional background and published work samples, before an account is created. Editorial Links may approve, reject, or request more information at its discretion.
Business Accounts
Businesses may use certain parts of the platform, such as submitting a project request, without a full account, and may also register an account to access features such as Business Access Credits where offered.
Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
Editor Profiles and Published Content
Editor Profiles
Approved editors may maintain a public profile including their name or professional name, professional background, areas of expertise, and published articles. Certain profile information (for example, private contact details) is not made public and is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
Published Articles
Editors may submit articles for publication. Depending on an editor’s standing on the platform, articles may require editorial review before publication or may publish directly.
Editorial Standards
Published content must be original, accurate to the best of the editor’s knowledge, genuinely useful to a reader, and free of material that exists primarily to promote a product or place a link rather than to inform.
Content Rules
Content must comply with these Terms, applicable law, and any editorial guidelines we publish from time to time. Editorial Links may decline to publish, or may remove, content that does not meet these standards.
External Links
Maximum Two External Links Per Article
Articles may include relevant external references where they genuinely support the content, subject to a maximum of two external links per article and editorial approval.
Prohibited Link Practices
Editors must not use articles to sell, exchange, or guarantee links, participate in link schemes, or include links whose primary purpose is to manipulate search engine rankings rather than inform the reader. Violations may result in content removal and account action.
Credits
Publishing Credits
Publishing Credits are used by eligible editors to publish approved content on the platform. An admin may grant credits, and additional credits may be available for purchase where offered.
Business Access Credits
Business Access Credits are used by businesses to unlock eligible, otherwise restricted editor information or features where offered.
Credit Purchases
Where credits are available for purchase, pricing and payment terms will be presented at the time of purchase and processed through a third-party payment provider (see Payments and Taxes below).
Credit Deduction
The applicable number of credits is shown before deduction and is deducted upon your confirmation of the relevant action (for example, publishing an article or unlocking eligible editor information).
Credit Refunds
Except where required by applicable law or expressly stated at the time of purchase, credits are non-refundable once deducted for a completed action. [Insert any additional refund policy specifics applicable to your business.]
Credit Expiration
Credits may be subject to an expiration period, which will be disclosed at the time credits are granted or purchased where applicable.
Promotions and Complimentary Credits
Editorial Links may offer promotional or complimentary credits from time to time, subject to additional terms disclosed at the time of the offer.
Credits have no cash value unless expressly stated, cannot be transferred between accounts unless the platform expressly permits it, cannot be exchanged for backlinks, and do not guarantee employment, projects, publication, traffic, or SEO results. Credit rules may be updated prospectively, subject to applicable law.
Payments and Taxes
Where the platform processes payments, they are handled by a third-party payment provider. [Insert payment provider name once selected.] Editorial Links may receive confirmation and limited transaction details from that provider without necessarily receiving or storing complete payment-card information. You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your use of the platform or payments you make or receive in connection with it, including taxes applicable to independent contractor income.
Independent Contractor Relationship
Business and Editor Relationship
Where Editorial Links facilitates an introduction or project opportunity between a business and an editor, the resulting working relationship for that project is between the business and the editor.
Project Agreements
Project scope, payment, deadlines, revisions and deliverables are governed by the agreement applicable to that specific project, whether that is a separate agreement between the business and editor or terms facilitated through the platform. Editorial Links may facilitate introductions or project opportunities but does not necessarily become a party to every contract between a business and an independent editor, unless a separate agreement expressly says so.
No Employment Relationship
Editors are independent contractors and are not employees, partners, agents, or representatives of Editorial Links, unless expressly agreed in writing. Editors are responsible for their own taxes, legal obligations, professional conduct, work arrangements, and agreements with clients where applicable.
No Guarantee of Work or Income
Editorial Links does not guarantee a number of projects, clients, or a level of income to any editor, and does not guarantee that any particular business will engage any particular editor.
No Guarantee of SEO Results, Backlinks, Rankings or Traffic
To be extremely clear: Editorial Links does not guarantee backlinks, link placement, follow links, search-engine rankings, domain authority, traffic, indexing, or any other SEO performance outcome, for businesses or for editors. External links in articles must be relevant and editorially appropriate, not a deliverable being sold. Publishing Credits and Business Access Credits must never be understood or described as purchasing backlinks.
User Content, Images, Logos, Trademarks and Intellectual Property
Users are responsible for the content they submit to Editorial Links. You must have the appropriate rights, licenses, permissions, or other lawful authority to submit any material, including articles, photographs, videos, graphics, logos, brand assets, product images, screenshots, documents, audio, quotes, names, trademarks, or other third-party material.
Copyright Ownership
Uploading or submitting material to Editorial Links does not automatically transfer ownership of that material to Editorial Links. You retain ownership of content you create and submit.
User-Submitted Content — License to Operate the Platform
Where necessary for operating the platform, you grant Editorial Links a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, reproduce, display, format, distribute, and technically process the material you submit, solely for the purpose of operating, displaying, and promoting the platform and the content on it, subject to the actual agreement in place and applicable law. This license is not an assignment or broader ownership claim over your work.
Images and Photographs / Logos and Trademarks / Third-Party Content
The same rights requirements apply specifically to images, photographs, logos, brand assets, and any other third-party material included in a submission. Including a company’s name, logo, or trademark in legitimate editorial content does not necessarily mean that company endorses Editorial Links or the editor, and users must not falsely imply sponsorship, endorsement, affiliation, or authorization by any third party.
Editor Content
Editors remain responsible for the originality, accuracy, legality, and rights associated with their submissions. Editorial Links may review, reject, edit for formatting, restrict, remove, or request changes to content that violates these Terms, our editorial standards, or applicable law.
Business-Submitted Content
Businesses are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary rights to any brand assets, product photographs, company information, marketing materials, documents, data, or images they provide to Editorial Links or to an editor in connection with a project.
Permission to Display Published Content
By submitting an article for publication, an editor permits Editorial Links to display that article publicly on the platform under the license described above, for as long as the content remains published in accordance with these Terms.
